How to make money on LinkedIn WITHOUT posting content
The 3 outbound strategies that generate 10-20 leads a month
One of my students got banned from posting on LinkedIn by his company. The leadership team explicitly told him “No more posts".
So we had to come up with another strategy for him to make money outside his 9-5.
If you are still working full-time and don’t want your company to know you’re building a side hustle on LinkedIn or if you are just not getting enough leads for your business, I’m writing this for you.
Yes, creating content is the best way to attract leads but here are 3 other strategies that have helped my students generate over $100,000 a year in revenue from LinkedIn:
1. Send a Voice Note to Each New Connection
When you get a new connection request, seize the opportunity to engage them immediately. Sending a personalized voice note is a unique touch that sets you apart from the crowd.
In your message, simply ask, “What prompted you to connect with me?” This opens the door to a conversation, allowing you to learn more about their interests and how you might be able to assist them. Personal interaction builds rapport quickly and can turn a casual connection into a valuable lead.
2. Send a Free Resource to Engaged Followers
Pay attention to the people who engage with your content. Every comment on your posts is an opportunity. Follow up with a thank you message and a valuable free resource related to your industry or expertise.
For example, if you posted about LinkedIn strategies, share a guide or a checklist that dives deeper into the topic. Always include a link to book a call with you, making it easy for them to reach out if they find your resource helpful. This gesture not only provides value but also positions you as an expert willing to share valuable insights.
3. Proactively Connect with Your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP)
Identify 20-30 people each week who resemble your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) and send them a personalized connection request. In your message, mention that you’ve created something specifically for them.
For instance, if you offer copywriting services, tell them you’ve written three emails tailored for their audience that they can use immediately. This approach demonstrates your expertise and willingness to provide value upfront. When you tailor your outreach to their specific needs, it’s more likely to resonate and encourage a positive response.
One of my students has used a combination of these strategies for the past 4 months. She sent me this text last week:
Founder’s Blueprint student passed $100,000 in revenue by May 2024
These methods are about starting conversations, providing immediate value, and positioning yourself as a go-to expert in your field.
You don’t need 100 new leads to make money on LinkedIn. You really only need 10-20 (and a really strong conversion funnel).
Remember, personalization and value are key to successful outbound strategies on LinkedIn. By sending voice notes, sharing free resources, and proactively connecting with your ICP, you’re not just reaching out—you’re creating meaningful interactions that can lead to genuine business opportunities.
